Why Family?

Why is family important?

Scripture tells us that children are a gift from the Lord, and they are like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior (Psalm 127). I believe families serving together is a spiritual force that is real, powerful, and significantly under emphasized today. I’ve been personally ministered to in powerful ways by families. I remember a Sunday morning many years ago when our pastor invited a family to minister, and I was powerfully and vitally moved. It was a life changing experience I will never forget.

There is a great battle raging today on the whole issue of family. There are forces at work trying to change the family. It is vital to make families available for ministry, for they are far more important than we really know. I am seeing a resurgence in family ministry emphasis, and I think it’s a trend that needs to grow.

Seeing fathers taking leadership and training their kids to be ministry minded and to serve others — that is what really counts and makes a difference! God has a powerful purpose for every family. That purpose revolves around the Gospel and serving others.
